My past presentations must have been so very boring!

It's Saturday night again. Have been sick this week and hence we are not out tonight. I have decided that simply changing the font colour on my ppts is no longer sufficient to snazz them up! Some of the ones i have viewed this evening are v snazzy. i wonder if they would take v long to do?
Anyhow, i joined up with Slide Rocket. When i was trying to make my new and improved ppt, i kept losing the connection and being kicked off the site - so i kept having to log back in. Then sometimes i couldnt figure out how to edit and save - but i got there in the end, without having any support from my techno savvy Gen Ys.....
Anyhow, i would like more time and help to do lots of interesting presentations. i dont like the background i chose much this evening, but i do like the way the youtube video sits in it.

i found it hard to navigate my way around SR - and so i think i need more practice. i would like to learn how to put audio in the ppts too, as that would be sensational for me being a language teacher. Anyhow, i think i need to go to bed. Buona notte, Livia

I now have a twitter account too!

It's Livia D'Aloia@LivvyDAl but sometimes i cant get on to the account. Ciao L

I started a Diigo account called LearningItaliano

I hope I have done it correctly and this time i was working on a Sunday night! it is a very good idea to store urls of things you might want to refer back to at some stage on Diigo. i had never heard of it before! i decided to make mine about all things Italian, as i teach this subject and i like to find out what is happening in Italy and keep to date with all things Italian that i can share with my students and others who are interested. i havent had a chance to examine the alternative accounts suggested but hopefully i will soon. Have a good week! Livia

surprise surprise

i managed to retrieve it and return it to my blog! I was intending to edit the first entry as i have been thinking that blogging is something that my students could do in Italian. Last year, some of my students wrote a pretend blog in Italian.
i had read a few blogs b4 - mostly people's travel blogs and some culinary reports. i suppose that students could also blog about their travels / experiences during the next overseas trip. Now that i have written a few blogs, i am getting the feel of it and seeing that they can be used for educational purposes. i realise that students are probably blogging already and i will ask them this week.... Ciao for now, Livia

a mistake

Hi there, i seem to have done something to my first blog to make it disappear from view. i didnt delete it but made it visible only to me. what can i do to rectify this?
Also, i have subscribed to jsut about everyone's blog.. Lots of reading to come. ciao Livia

It's Sunday Night Fever tonight as i try to understand Twitter

Today was Mother's Day and a special day it was. We had a nice lunch but the restaurant was so busy that they ran out of bread b4 they got to us! An Italian restaurant without bread! Some of our party also missed out on the post meal coffee later in the day! Also unheard of!
Surprisingly I spent the evening trying to figure out how to use Twitter, as when i tried at work on Wed, the filters stopped me and i have been feeling guilty ever since - all that Catholic school upbringing comes in handy! Anyhow, i have been I wondering if Twitter will be useful to me and that it wont be another distractor / timewaster, like FB! My family is truly amazed that i have tweeted, as they have not and they were all born after me! Ha! You CAN teach me new things! So far, i following Felicity, Michael G, Janine and Jessica. Diliara may let me follow her. I have also decided to follow a few other of my favourite things - B and B, Il Divo, a couple of Italian things and Zac Galifinakis. (sp?)
Anyhow, it's Livia D'Aloia @LivvyDAl if u would like to follow me. Buona notte, Livia
